“Glass-working lathes slowly rotate a hollow glass vessel over a fixed or variable temperature flame. The source of the flame may be either hand-held, or mounted to a banjo/cross slide that can be moved along the lathe bed. The flame serves to soften the glass being worked, so that the glass in a specific area of the workpiece becomes ductile, and subject to forming either by inflation (“glass blowing“), or by deformation with a heat-resistant tool.” – ( Thanks Wikipedia )

The BB
One day back in March I started receiving frantic g-chats from Katie telling me that we were getting kicked out of our beloved 1205 apartment and that we needed to find a new place ASAP. Thank goodness she is a Craigslist guru because we found the most beautiful new home. The Backyard Bungalow, or as we affectionately call it, “the BB”, came equipped with a stellar backyard (hence the name). It also has a washer-dryer, a basement, and a built-in chimenea. Katie and I moved into our new home on my birthday, right in the middle of an April snowstorm (go home Colorado, you’re drunk). As soon as the warm weather kicked in, though, we wasted no time grilling, s’mores-ing, tanning, and playing lawn games.
^ ^ Many of you may not know, but Miss KBo is quite the grill master. ^ ^
^ ^ Sun coming in through the grape vines ^ ^
^ ^ Trying to teach me how to grill…. sorry Dad. ^ ^
^ ^ My beautiful roommate ^ ^
^ ^ We were excited to move into a new pace, but super sad that so many Denver babies were leaving. So long, Meg! ^ ^
^ ^ Aaron, whose sleeves left him, then left us for summer camp.
^ ^ Mitch, a true Kansas child, made himself at home on the grill. ^ ^
^ ^ Molly, darling as ever, provided us with the fantastical “Hint-of-Lime” chips. ^ ^
^ ^ And Nicole, shockingly, enjoyed an IPA. ^ ^
We were really lucky to find the BB. Here’s to many more backyard BBQs!
